A 60-year-old electrician from Wilkes-Barre was killed in a construction accident when a coworker drove a van over him. The person driving the van did not see the man before he was hit. The victim was pinned under the van.

Construction workers pulled Mr. Anstett's body out from under the van. Officer Bidwell and a few of the workers performed CPR until an ambulance arrived.

Officer Bidwell called the death "an accident" and said charges will not be filed against the driver, whom she described as a "close friend" of Mr. Anstett.

The construction site is in Covington Township. A new Sears distribution center is being built. OSHA will investigate the accident.
