A man, 67, working on a natural gas pipeline was killed in a construction accident, Saturday, when he was thrown from the machine and it rolled over him.

The accident occurred while the construction worker, of New Jersey, was working on the Millennium Pipeline in Harriman State Park, located approximately 30 miles north of New York City.

Federal regulators approved the 182-mile pipeline, with a price tag of $650 million late last year. When completed, the line will run from Corning in western New York to Ramapo in Rockland County.

The new 30-inch pipeline will replace the current 10-inch pipeline owned by Columbia Gas. Work stared in late June and is expected to be completed in November 2008.
