Texan billionaire Allen Stanford has been charged over a $8billion investment fraud.

On February 17, 2009, the SEC said financier, Allen Stanford of the Stanford Group, orchastrated "a fradulent, multibillion dollar investment scheme." The SEC explained Stanford perpetuated the fraud by making false promises and fabricating historical return data. A US District Judge has frozen Stanford's assets.
