Yahoo News features an article discussing a study that will be in the May 17 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association. It brings to light information that plaintiff attorneys have been saying for years about so called unbiased studies by the drug companies. This article is referencing a Harvard study about the bias of for-profit funding in medical research.

Among its findings, the study concludes that "according to background information in this article, surveys of randomized trials conducted in the 1990s found that for-profit trials were more likely to report positive findings. Those surveys raised questions about the design and conduct of industry-funded clinical trials. They resulted in recommendations for ways to improve academic oversight of industry-sponsored research and to make sure that all clinical trials are registered and published."
