An auto recall notice has been issued by General Motors for more than 35,000 Pontiac G8s from the 2008-09 model years.

The brake pedal position switch may have been incorrectly programmed, which could cause the brake lights to remain illuminated, thus failing to warn following drivers that the vehicle is braking.

Also, on some vehicles, the tire pressure monitoring system may have incorrect values programmed, which could fail to warn drivers of low tire pressure.

The recall is expected to begin in June and GM dealers will reprogram the brake position sensor and also check the tire pressure monitoring system.

For more information regarding the recall notice, consumers can contact Pontiac at 1-800-620-7668. Refer to GM Recall No. 09101 and 09046 as a reference.
