The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and DeVilbiss Air Power Company have re-released a recall involving DeVilbiss Air Power Company Pressure Washers and Air Compressors due to injuries reported. The pressure washers and air compressors have pneumatic tires with plastic hubs that can burst, posing fracture and laceration hazards to consumers.

The recall involves about 620,000 pressure washers and 72,000 compressors previously recalled in December 2006. 26 reports of injuries including fractures, lacerations and bruises originally caused DeVilbiss Air Power Company, of Jackson, TN to recall the equipment in 2006. Since then, the company has received more than 100 injury reports, including hand and finger fractures and lacerations, reports of minor property damage and damage to vehicles, which have shown another recall is imperative.

The effected pressure washers and air compressors were manufactured in the USA and sold at home centers and hardware stores nationwide under the brand names Delta, Excell Porter-Cable, Pressure-Wave and Water Driver. Recalled pressure washers were sold from January 2004 through November 2005 for between $300 and $1,400. The recalled air compressors were sold between December 2004 and October 2006 for between $300 and $500.

For a complete list of these products, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall release here: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10007.html.

Consumers should stop using these products immediately and contact DeVilbiss to obtain the location of the nearest service center to receive a free replacement of the tires. Call DeVilbiss toll-free at (866) 323-9867 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. The CPSC is still interested in receiving incident or injury reports that are either directly related to this product recall or involve a different hazard with the same product. To report a dangerous product or a product-related injury, call CPSC's Hotline at (800) 638-2772 or by visiting www.cpsc.gov/cgibin/incident.aspx.
