The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning to consumers that seven Mr. Brown instant coffee and tea products have been recalled by King Car Food Industrial Co. Ltd., due to a possible contamination with melamine.

The company used a non-dairy creamer that was manufactured by Shandong Duquig Inc., of China, which was found to be contaminated with melamine.

The recalled coffee and tea products include:

· Mr. Brown Mandheling Blend Instant Coffee (3-in-1)

· Mr. Brown Arabica Instant Coffee (3-in-1)

· Mr. Brown Blue Mountain Blend Instant Coffee (3-in-1)

· Mr. Brown Caramel Macchiato Instant Coffee (3-in-1)

· Mr. Brown French Vanilla Instant Coffee (3-in-1)

· Mr. Brown Mandhling Blend instant Coffee (2-in-1)

· Mr. Brown Milk Tea (3-in-1)

The FDA advises consumers to avoid consuming any of the above recalled products. As of September 25, 2008 the FDA testing of milk based products imported into the U.S. from China has not discovered any melamine contamination.

The FDA is working with regulatory agencies in other countries as well. The New Zealand Food Safety Authority has reported that recent testing of White Rabbit Creamy Candies has shown high levels of melamine contamination and advises consumers to avoid consumption.

Currently, the FDA is not aware of any illnesses in the U.S. linked to the consumption of Mr. Brown instant coffee and tea products or White Rabbit Creamy Candy.

Any individuals that feel they may have experienced health problems after consuming either product is advised to contact their medical doctor immediately.
