Electrolux Home Care Products Recalls Cordless Stick Vacuums

Electrolux Home Care Products Inc, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is recalling 320,000 Ergorapido, Pronto and Precision Vacuums because the battery can burst, posing an injury risk to the user and bystanders.

To date, the company has received 34 reports of injury - two reports involved minor injuries, including swollen hands and irritation to the eyes from contact with batter powder.

The recall involves 2-in-1 cordless stick vacuums that have a detachable hand vacuum and free-standing charger. The following serial numbers are included in the recall: 074000001 through 085100001 and 74000001 through 85100001.

EL1000A - Pronto
EL1000B - Pronto
EL1000BX - Pronto
EL1000BZ - Pronto
PE1000B - Precision
EL1005A - Ergorapido
EL1006A - Ergorapido

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled products and to unplug them immediately. The company is offering a free replacement of the handheld portion of the vacuum that contains the batteries.
