Studies have shown that the recession could potentially get worse due to the amount of people who do not have drivers insurance. When people drive without insurance they run they risk of not being covered and must pay substantial amounts of money for medical bills as well as repairs for both vehicles. There is a strong correlation between the rate of unemployed and the rate of the uninsured. As more and more people get laid off, the more opt they are to forgo carrying drivers insurance. Now that the rate of uninsured drivers is so high, it is more likely that you will get into an auto accident with another driver who does not have auto insurance. When the other driver you get in the auto accident with does not have auto insurance, the money is going to have to come out of the other drivers pocket. In many instances the person without the insurance does not have the money to pay for the damages of your car. Here is where the problem gets worse because if there is significant damage a lawsuit will be filed and the person who cannot afford the insurance in the first place will not be able to afford a lawyer and so on. As we get deeper and deeper into this recession we are going to have to determine where we draw the line. If you or a loved one has been injured in an auto accident in which the other driver does not carry auto insurance, contact super lawyers at Napoli Bern Ripka, LLP today.
