Studies have shown that the recession could potentially get worse due to the amount of people who do not have drivers insurance. When people drive without insurance they run they risk of not being covered and must pay substantial amounts of money for medical bills as well as repairs for both vehicles. There is a strong correlation between the rate of unemployed and the rate of the uninsured. As more and more people get laid off, the more opt they are to forgo carrying drivers insurance. Now that the rate of uninsured drivers is so high, it is more likely that you will get into an auto accident with another driver who does not have auto insurance.
